Amber M. — Our Family Today

Amber M. describes her mother as a lifelong downwinder who has lived with chronic autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. Amber later experienced serious illness herself at a relatively young age. Amber does not claim that Rocky Flats caused their illnesses. She wants her family's experience acknowledged and believes questions about the health of people who lived in surrounding communities deserve research and transparency. “For us, Rocky Flats is not just something that happened in the past. Its legacy is still very much present in our family today.”
