Stephanie T. — I Just Want to Raise Awareness

Stephanie T. has lived in Arvada since 1981. She has spoken publicly about a brain tumor that was monitored for years and later grew substantially. She remembers spending time outdoors around Standley Lake, playing in the water and gardening, and says her children did too. She has also described learning that former Arvada West classmates from the mid-1980s had experienced brain tumors. Stephanie believes her own health experience may be related to her life around Rocky Flats. That is her personal belief. She became an early participant in the expanded community health survey because she wanted the experiences of people who lived in the area to be documented. “I just want to raise awareness about people that live around it.”
